Student of the Month for February - Mackenzie S.

For the past couple of weeks I have been doing a Cert 2 in Salon Assistant. I go to Avidity in Albert Park on a Wednesday afternoon and undertake this course. During the course of the few weeks I have been doing it we have been learning about OHS, contaminations, chemicals, how to set up a trolley and how to clean all the equipment.

Fiorella, my trainer, has been a hairdresser for over thirty years. She knows a lot so is now being a shining star and helping encourage and teach younger girls and boys the bits and bops of hair dressing.

Within this course we are going to learn the OH&S, how to wash the hair, how to dry hair to shape and also how to do some up styling. All of us get a kit which has lots of brushes and hair dryers which we will need in the course.

I am looking forward to get into the practical things in the hair salon. This is just the beginning of my future career. Big things are coming my way.

Student of the Month for March - Jesse L.

Jesse has settled into Montague really well, and Sotiria was very impressed with the effort he put in for Harmony Day recently.  Jesse made this spectacular flag.  Well done, Jesse!

"For my project this term I made a HARMONY DAY wall hanging.  It has continents, the flags of the world and the word "Hello" in different languages.  I hope you like it." (Jesse)

Student of the Month for April - Jack C.

Jack achieved his individual goals set up in his ILP for working together and building resilience.  It is great to see Jack role modelling positive attitudes towards his teachers and peers.  Well done, Jack, and keep up the great work!
